Yves Gambier is Professor in Translation and Interpreting at the University of Turku (Finland). Professor Gambier’s research interests include Audiovisual Translation; Translation Theory, Socio-terminology, Language Policy and Language Planning, Bilingualism, Discourse Analysis, and Training of teachers in translation and interpreting. He has published more than 180 articles and edited or co-edited 20 books. He is member of several Editorial boards: Babel, Hermeneus, Sendebar, Synergies, Target, Terminology, TTR. He is also General Editor of the Benjamins Translation Library (John Benjamins); member of Advisory Boards: Scandinavian University Studies in Humanities and Social Sciences (Peter Lang), Traductologie (PU d'Artois). President of the European Society for Translation Studies (EST) 1998-2004; and Chair of the Expert Group in the European Master’s in Translation / EMT-project (2007-2010).
